Polished Palate Biography
Kim Brandi-CEO/Founder, Elements Spirits, Inc
L.A.-based and New York City-bred Brandi is the designer and creator of KAH, Day of the Dead Tequila. She is CEO/Founder of Elements Spirits Inc., a trailblazing company serving boutique and emerging spirits brands and is the Publisher of Liquid Living Magazine - an innovative consumer publication with a how-to focus centered on home entertaining with spirits.
Brandi boasts a multi-faceted background in publishing, graphic design and product marketing—a triple threat that has made her a star in her field. Recognition of her work has led to the opportunity to design the bottle and brand logo for Prefiero Tequila, scheduled to launch in 2011, as well as develop the packaging for a new Soju.
Prior to forming Elements Spirits, beverage brand marketing has been Ms. Brandi’s primary focus. For Los Angeles-area based magazines, including Patterson’s Beverage Journal (The Tasting Panel), The Beverage Bulletin, and Beverage Industry News, Brandi worked closely with a myriad of brands to help them further define their niche in a competitive marketplace. During her tenure as editor-in-chief of Beverage Industry News Magazine (“BIN Magazine”) 2004-2009, she put her extensive understanding of branding and marketing to work, which resulted in a significant increase in readership and played an instrumental role in redefining BIN Magazine's visual look both in print and web, as well as its business foundation to appeal to a new generation of spirits and wine industry professionals.
Building a unique niche in the beverage field over the past two decades, Brandi has actively sought out opportunities to work with different purveyors of tequila—her spirit of choice. One ongoing project is providing marketing for the annual Spirits of Mexico festival, staged in San Diego. Brandi attributes her affiliation with this event and founder, Dori Bryant, combined with the spiritual impact Day of the Dead has had on her ultimately led her to bring KAH, Day of the Dead Tequila to life.
