Producer of Tequila Espanta Suegras
Guillermo Mendoza Tarré (60) Produces Espanta Suegras in Tlaquepaque , Jalisco in the very heart of the Tequila producing country.
It is produced by his company Tarré Ódena Sucesores, SA de CV a company formed 5 years ago with the background of a family which for many years was related to the liquor business.
Guillermo himself had a pioneering role in the internationalization of Tequila as he was one of the young persons who, in the mid 70’s, was promoting Tequila as the newest global category in the Liquor Industry.
Between 1974-1986 he was the President of the Consortium COINSA, based in Guadalajara and from there he founded in the late seventies the now extinct “Association of Tequila Producers” which operated from Dallas as the first collective effort of the industry to promote the category with the purpose of enhancing its intrinsic qualities and consequently its perception to the knowledgeable consumers.
Some of the first Ultra Premium Tequila brands originated from the days of the Association of Tequila Producers and now the intention of Guillermo is to create a different high quality product capable of bringing to the consumer enjoyment to body and spirit and he developed the beautiful concept of Espanta Suegras. He hopes with ESPANTA to make a nice impact in the Tequila Category related products.
Guillermo has a long time experience in industry and international trade as also a substantial part of his career (1987-2005) was devoted as President of Danisco in México a Northern European world wide leading company in the technology of food and beverages.
Now he is entirely dedicated to his own business and also as a business editorialist in MURAL the leading newspaper in Guadalajara where he lives with his family.
