Biography of the Chef

Born on the island of Martinique, Chef Morel Mouflet began his career in his mother’s kitchen. It was from his mother that Chef Mouflet developed a love for cooking and this passion brought him to France to study at the Ecole de Cuisine Etemps. He continued his education in pastry-making at Ecole de Patisserie de Vincennes in Paris and completed a variety of international culinary internships in Saudi Arabia, Cuba, Italy, the United States, Canada, India, and England. Having been in New York for ten years, Chef Mouflet is currently involved in the MM French Paradox Group of Culinary Services in New York City. This group provides French and Martiniquais catering services and manages a restaurant in East Harlem called La Fonda Mexicana.
