Paul Artrip, “The Rum Daddy”, Judge
Paul “Rum Daddy” Artrip resides in Virginia Beach , Virginia . He is a well-known rum aficionado and rummier to many rumophiles and Parrot Head clubs. His extensive personal collection includes over 90 rums and cachacas.
Paul’s love of rums and related spirits resulted in the creation of sales education and marketing programs for premium spirits distillers and distributors. Paul will be a judge at the UK RumFest this June, as well as offering seminars on spirits trends amongst U.S. tourists.
Paul has conducted numerous rum tastings and trainings throughout the U.S. , as well as writing food and beverage columns for a number of Parrot Head clubs. He participated as a judge in the International Cane Spirits Festival® in Ybor City Florida 2006, and was a lecturer at seminars at the NYC RumFest 2006. Paul used his mixology skills to become the grand prize winner in the charity-focused Margaritaville Tequila “Conky-Tonkin’ Concoction Contest” tequila recipe mixology contest in Key West 2005.
