VICTORIA D’AMATO-MORAN

Victoria D’Amato-Moran a San Francisco native, started in the restaurant business working under Jeremiah Tower at his 4-star restaurant, Stars, San Francisco. The daughter of a San Francisco bartender, and directly related to the historical fishing industry at the Fishermen’s Wharf, D’amato-Moran’s family was always cooking, making wine, grappa, liqueurs and vinegars.

Finding herself managing a bar for her cousin in North Beach, she knew bartending and creating cocktails would be her art. When D'amato-Moran entered and won her first drink competition in 2003, she was hooked.

Fifteen successful winning competitions later, which includes the most recent, Le Cognac for the New York Bar & Wine Show, Suntory Cocktail Competition 2010, Best Garnish Award for the Southern Wine & Spirits, “Battle of the Mixologists, 2010, and “Battle Of The Mixologists” 2009, which awarded her 1 st place in Las Vegas. D’amato-Moran creates cocktails for Midori, Skyy Spirits, Arta Tequila, amongst others , using the freshest ingredients available from her local farmers, where she also makes fresh fruit juice combos to accentuate any fine spirit.

As a young child, Victoria was taught to cook, grow fruit, veggies, herbs and flowers. For the past 5 years, she has utilized her garden ingredients, to make intriguing and beautiful cocktails, marrying kitchen to bar, sustainable cocktails, is one way to describe Victoria’s style, and displaying such drinks in her myriad of antique cocktail glasses, a collection started by her family. As a artist, she would tell you that Designing Cocktails is her new medium, after creating a cocktail menu for Chef Michael Chiarello, in Yountville, California,

Victoria has started her own cocktail catering & consulting business where hand-crafted syrups are her specialty. No two are the same and cannot be replicated as they are truly unique, complimenting food and spirits.

D'amato-Moran has been recognized for her work in Sante' Magazine, Wine Enthusiast, San Francisco Magazine, Nightclub & Bar Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Marie Claire. As well, Gary Regan, Robert Plotkin, Jack Robertiello, and Grace Ann Walden have written about Ms. D’amato over the years, in E-Zines, and local papers. Victoria is a bi-monthly cocktail contributor to Un Buona Salute' Italian Magazine and Liquid Living Magazine.
