Ybor (ee-bor) City, birthplace of the Cuba Libre, more commonly called the Rum and Coke, has its roots steeped in Rum. The drink of the Cuban Revolution in the late 19 th Century is still the most popular cocktail consumed in this city, also called Guava City . Early settlers came in search of Guava fruit, but, while Guava was not plentiful, they saw the potential of the area and, resultantly, Vicente Martinez Ybor founded the first cigar cactory here.

Also known as Cigar City and currently a melting pot of all ethnicities, the founding ‘tampenas’ were primarily from Cuba, Spain and Italy, so Ybor City was also referred to as Florida’s Latin Quarter. Ybor City ’s illustrious history and proud heritage have nurtured the thirst of thousands of patrons who visit the area each year. It’s time to create a cocktail that represents this new period of revitalization and tastes, while paying homage to its rich and colorful history.
