Included in the seminar, Khrys offers insight into the basic differences in blancos, reposados, and anejos and explains the different types of barrels used with the flavors they can impart. Learn about Highlands versus Lowlands Tequilas; Taste cooked agave; learn how to smoothly taste each mark presented at the Spirits of Mexico--such as sip, taste and spit; where to go after the Festival is over (SoCal restaurants/bars/stores) to continue enjoying agave spirits and more.

Meet Judith Meza, CRT Representative, US & Canada. The Tequila Regulatory Council (Consejo Regulador del Tequila, CRT) is the only private organization approved by the Mexican government to certify the industry’s compliance with the mandatory technical regulations (Standards) applicable to Tequila. This compliance is ensured by constant inspection of manufacturing facilities and the issuance of certificates of authenticity that, along with labeling requirements, allow the Council to trace the product back to its source. The CRT’s main goal is to ensure the integrity and authenticity of Tequila to the consumer .
